Organic bath salts

It is time to get back to the basics. Basic products that promote good health and wellness. Instead of purchasing personal care items full of artificial ingredients that likely do little more than dry out skin, why not switch to all natural hygiene products?
To some people, returning to the basics may seem like taking a bath in the river or using natural mud and sea salt as face masks and body scrubs. You do not, however, need to live by a stream or an ocean to experience the benefits of all natural hygiene products. Today’s health and beauty shelves are filled with everything from sea salt bath soak products to aromatherapy gifts that can promote personal health and wellness without increasing exposure to to dangerous and harsh chemicals.
Essential oils are one example of all natural hygiene products that are being purchased by the most discerning consumers. Although the cost of essential oils can initially seem expensive, once customers realize the time intensive process the price is easier to understand. Imagine the time it would take, for instance, to get a single drop of rose oil from 30 roses. Because of their strength, essential oils last quite awhile.
With a history of 6,000 years of use, essential oils have been a part of a variety of cultures, including Chinese, Egyptians, Greeks, Indians, and Romans. They have been used for therapeutic treatments, as well as spiritual, ritualistic, and hygienic uses.
In 1928 the French Chemist Rene-Maurice Gattefosse founded the science of aromatherapy when he discovered that lavender oil provided pain relief and healing when he applied it to a burn on his hand. Today, essential oils are used for a variety of reasons, including:

  • Cumin promotes digestive health and purifies body systems
  • Eucalyptus encourages healthy respiration, skin, and cleansing
  • Lemon increases energy, supports digestive and respiratory systems
  • Tea Tree promotes healthy immune function and skin complexion
  • Wintergreen soothes muscles and joints, provides emotional support

While most disclaimers that come with essential oils indicate that they have not been approved by the FDA, it is difficult to deny the healing properties of the hundreds of essential oils that our ancestors used. Consumers who are looking for ways to move away from harmful chemicals and toward all natural hygiene products will find a large market of options.
Even something as simple as a warm bath has healing properties. Studies that have been done since 1985 indicate, for instance, that in addition to providing relaxation and a good night’s sleep, a warm bath may also promote better help for diabetic patients. A daily soak in a hot tub has been shown to reduce both sugar and glucose levels in the blood. Additionally, a 20-30 minute bath six days a week might help people lose as much as 2.5 pounds a month. Weight loss, of course, can improve the health of patients diagnosed with diabetes.
If you are tired of putting man made pharmaceuticals into your system, it might be time to try all organic hygiene products. Available without a prescription, you just might find that these all natural products can make your next month doctor’s appointment unnecessary.
